Colonel Sebastiano Procolo and his little grandson Benvenuto have inherited a house in the mountains and its surrounding woods. Benvenuto gets soon attuned to the animals and a series of metaphysical creatures of the wood, while his grandfather thinks of the woods as a mere source of earnings.
