Various members of a provincial family go to Rome for different reasons. The daughter, Sandrina, hopes to make a career in the movies and so, with her mother’s backing, she has come to protest about not being chosen for the beauty contest for the film “Nero ‘71”. The father, Guglielmo, hopes to take part in a competition for football umpires but in the end is chosen for the part of Nero in the film. Finally, feeling somewhat upset, all members of the family go back to their home town.
