A Neapolitan who had emigrated to America leaves a huge fortune to his illegitimate son who lives in Naples. A man and his mistress, who are two scoundrels from America, find the heir, Alberto, who is an artist and a musician, and decide to kill him. But the woman falls in love with the future victim, and so the two scoundrels kill each other. Thus Alberto can marry Nennella with whom he is in love and claim the fortune.
