Sergius of Tula goes to Dubno to free Princess Mascia, who is being kept prisoner by Queen Jassa. Sergius is bewitched by Jassa, who rouses his ambitions and puts her army at his disposal so that he can conquer King Stephen’s throne. Andrew, fighting in the king’s name, defeats his brother Sergius and peace is restored.
